Learn your way around Block Puzzle

Take a moment with Block Puzzle before moving to another game. Place pieces and clear rows/columns until no offered shape fits. Look at what changes after your first action. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Place shapes on an 8×8 board and clear full lines. The round ends when none of the current shapes fits.

Practice beyond the first move

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Use the example to check your reasoning.

The objective of a round

Place pieces and clear rows/columns until no offered shape fits. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Follow these playing steps

  1. Select a shape.
  2. Select its top-left board position.
  3. Clear full rows and columns.
  4. Use all three offered pieces to receive a new set.

Getting comfortable with the controls

Select a piece, then a board cell. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

Put the rules into context

One placement can clear both a row and a column. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Notice the change in the playing area.

Check this before moving on

Pieces cannot rotate in this edition. Compare the situation with the worked example. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
