Visual Memory: learn through an example

Bring your attention to one round of Visual Memory. Select every square that was shown. Selecting an unshown square ends the session. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Look at what changes after your first action.

A focus for your next round

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Refer to the controls when needed.

What the game asks you to do

Select every square that was shown. Selecting an unshown square ends the session. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Notice how the game responds to your input.

How a round unfolds

  1. Start a round and watch the highlighted cells.
  2. Wait until the board hides the pattern.
  3. Select the positions you remember; order does not matter.
  4. Complete the pattern to advance.

How to interact with the game

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

Learn from a sample situation

If the four corner squares were shown, select those four corners in any order. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Look for the relevant detail.

An important reminder

Unlike Sequence Memory, this game does not require the original order. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
